AWS tools
Some tools I learned about from a consultant I’ve been working with who specializes in AWS.
IAM Policy Simulator
It can be difficult to get IAM policies configured correctly. The IAM Policy Simulator lets you simulate different scenarios and gives immediate feedback about whether access is allowed or denied.
Firefox Containers
Sometimes I have multiple AWS console tabs open and need to switch back and forth between different AWS accounts. When switching to a new account, AWS forces you to reload all open tabs and you get redirected from whichever service you had open.
The Firefox Multi-Account Containers browser extension lets you isolate sessions with Containers. You can create one Container per AWS account and have multiple tabs open across multiple Containers.
EC2 Instance Comparison site
Someone else thought it was a bit difficult to use AWS’ documentation to compare EC2 instances so they automated scraping the data together onto one page: EC2Instances.info. It also has RDS instance info.
